GETTING STARTED

What is Ani at Hapag?

Ani at Hapag is a multimedia project that guides you to growing your own vegetables and turning them into everyday meals. We focus on simple, affordable, and sustainable practices you can easily do at home.

Not at all! Our guides are beginner-friendly and designed for anyone. No green thumb or master chef required.

We focus on Lagikway, Kulitis, and Talinum because they are versatile, easy to grow, low-maintenance greens that are perfect for everyday cooking.

GROWING YOUR OWN FOOD

Where can I find/purchase these vegetables?

These vegetables can grow in many parts of the Philippines and can thrive in different climates. While they do have their favorite places to live (which you can explore via our Map page), they naturally spread and can often be found in unexpected places—even in your own backyard, once you know what to look for.

If you’re looking to start growing them, seeds and cuttings are widely available online—a quick search will lead you to plenty of options.

Yes! These plants can thrive in small spaces like balconies, windowsills, or even recycled containers and pots.

It depends on the plant, but many of these greens grow quickly and can be harvested in just a few weeks. For more detailed information, refer to our How to Grow page and/or our guidebook.

Not at all! They’re chosen specifically because they’re low-maintenance and beginner-friendly.

COOKING & RECIPES

How long are these vegetables’ shelf lives?

They may live up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator as long as they are properly wrapped in tissue and/or paper.

That’s the beauty of sustainable home gardening! As long as the plant is taken care of, you can have an endless supply of vegetables inside your home.

Yes! Lagikway, Kulitis, and Talinum can easily be added to soups, sautés, and other meals you already enjoy.
